Ashley Chason, PhD, ABPP

Dr. Ashley Chason is a board-certified forensic psychologist who specializes in criminal forensic evaluations, including competency/capacity to proceed, criminal responsibility/sanity, diminished capacity, violence risk assessment, and mitigation evaluations, as well as providing expert witness testimony and consultation to courts and legal professionals. Over the course of her 10+ year career, she has completed psychological evaluations in state hospital, correctional, and outpatient settings, across several jurisdictions. Dr. Chason maintains ongoing advanced training in forensic psychology to ensure her work reflects current research and evolving legal standards.

Emilie Picard, PhD

 

Dr. Picard is a forensic neuropsychologist, licensed to practice in North Carolina and Virginia. She earned her doctoral degree from Fordham University, with emphasis on both neuropsychology and forensic psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at the UNC School of Medicine and the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, North Carolina, followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Virginia, where she also worked in collaboration with the forensic psychology program.  ​Dr. Picard specializes in forensic assessments of sexual offending behavior and cognitive impairment in criminal contexts, with particular expertise in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and neurodegenerative disorders, as they relate to questions of competency, criminal responsibility, and recidivism risk.
